Dr. Arum Han

Dr. Han is a Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chancellor EDGES Fellow of Texas A&M University, Presidential Impact Fellow of Texas A&M University. He currently also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the journal Biomedical Microdevices.      

Dr. Han received his B.S. degree from the Seoul National University in 1997, M.S. degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2000, and Ph.D. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2005 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to a tenured Associate Professor in 2011. He became Full Professor in 2016. He also is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (courtesy joint appointment). He is a Graduate Faculty of the Texas A&M Health Science Center, Faculty of the Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience, and Faculty of Toxicology.

Research interest::

Solving Grand Challenge Problems in the broad area of Health, Biotechnology, Sustainable Energy, and Synthetic Biolog  through the use of Micro/Nano Systems Technology

- Organ-on-a-chip (tissue chip)
- Synthetic Biology & Cell-based Biomanufacturing
- Drug/Vaccine Developemnt against Infectious Diseases (both viral and microbial)
- Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip Systems
- Point of Care (POC) Diagnosis Systems
